UNBEATEN since June 2, Nantwich cricket remain well in the hunt for their third successive title following a 19 runs win at Hyde after posting 214-7, with Jonny Kettle hitting 78. Hyde’s county duo Danny Berry, 59 and James Duffy, 55 both did their stuff, but the remaining batsmen crumbled against fine bowling from Ollie Griffiths, who took 4-47 off 21 tight overs to dismiss the Werneth Low men for 195.
IN Division 1of the Cricket Alliance Sandbach,beat Wistaston by 9 wickets. Wistaston scored 178-6 with D Barnes making 50) and P Owen 45 as R Cotton took 4-59. Sandbach then scord 179-1 with R Kesteven making 59* and P Hampshire 92*. Division 2 At Mossley in Division 2 the home side beat Audlem by 129 runs. Mossley scored 240-5 with P Stirk making 47, A Slynn 53 and T Trevors 85. Audlem were then bowled out for 111 with C Shenton making 33 as R Mellor took 4-19. The Division 3 clash at Haslington, saw the home side beat Appleton II by 50 runs. Haslington II scored 217-9 with J Phipps making 48 and R Prickford 46 as W Barnes took5-26 and D Robinson 3-32. After tea, Appleton II scored 167 all out with M Arnold making 49 and A Sharif 46 as A Rashid took 5-66. At Tranmere Vics, the home side beat Sandbach II by 5 wickets. Sandbach II scored 104 all out with E Bryers taking 3-19 and R Baker 3-19. After tea, Tranmere Vics scored 106-5 with G Francis making 32.
