Nantwich go to the top of the Premier League after 68 run victory

NANTWICH have gone top of the ECB Premier League for the first time after a comprehensive 68 runs victory at Widnes, And with an 11 points advantage will clinch their third successive title if they win their remaining two games which are at home to Urmston next Saturday and at Toft on the last day of the season.

The Dabbers sent Widnes back to the foot of the table after posting 200-9, Ray Doyle 73, Sam Hunt 30, Sam Agarwal 4-38. Widnes replied with 132 all out, Danny Naughton 58, with spinner Ollie Griffiths taking 3-29 and paceman Chris Connolly 3-36. Missing from the winners’ line-up was star batsman Louis Bentley, preparing for Lancashire’s 2nd XI cup final against Middlesex at Radlett.

Oxton put paid to Macclesfield’s hopes when they bowled out their hosts for 53, the lowest premiership tally of the season and trail the Dabbers by 11 points.
