Hero Kesteven

SANDBACH secured a seven-wicket defeat of Saughall in Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division One.

The hero was R Kesteven, who took 6 for 62 as the visitors fell to 130 all out and then scored 47 of the runs in the 133 for 3 response.

Wistaston beat Bowdon Vale by two wickets.

Guests Vale scored 148 for 8, with S Bottomley making 42 as N Khan took 3 for 43.

In reply, Wistaston scored 149 for 8 with K Thornhill making 32.

Haslington lost by 17 runs at Stalybridge, who scored 167 all out before bowling out Haslington for 150 Audlem were bowled out for 90 as they tried to overcome Wilmslow’s 181 for 9 in Division Two.

Haslington’s seconds beat Tranmere Vics by 108 runs in Division Three after setting a target of 220 for 8.

Rostherne hammered Sandbach’s second XI by eight wickets. Sandbach could only score 29 all out.

Wistaston II’s seconds won by two wickets at Capenhurst, who scored 74 all out.

M Brown took 4 for 41 and A Smith 4 for 5.

Brown then clocked up 34 runs as Wistaston responded with 75 for 8.
