Ellington to win short-term Crewe Alexandra contract

NATHAN Ellington is still set to win a short-term deal with Crewe after scoring his third in as many games for the under 21s.

The 31-year-old netted in a 1-1 against former club Wigan.

“He’s enjoying it here, loves the lads, club and environment we train in,” explained boss Steve Davis.

“I think other clubs are waiting to pounce but he’s happy here while he’s getting games.

“I’ll make the right decision for the club.

“He’s a great finisher, we’ve already seen that.

“I know he is up to it mentally and his ability isn’t in question.

“But he knows he’s got to get fitter and there is no point in me taking a player who is going to break down.”
