STEVE Davis has demanded home improvement ahead of this Saturday’s clash with old foes Shrewsbury.

Having lost their last three games down Gresty Road, the Alex boss wants his side to put things right against their struggling opponents.

Graham Turner’s men boosted their chances of beating the drop with a vital midweek 3-2 win at MK Dons.

However Davis wants to halt any revival for the visitors as he targets a strong finish to Crewe’s first season back in League One.

“Our home form has slipped recently and we’ve lost three in succession so we need to put that right,” he said.

“In fairness before the dip we were playing well at home or getting good results so we want to get back to winning ways in front out our own fans.”

Postponed midweek due to a frozen pitch, the game against title-chasing Sheffield United will take place on Tuesday, April 23.

And with fixtures against five of the top six still to go, Davis says Crewe will not give up on making a late surge on the play-offs.

“I’ve looked at the games and we’ve got to take on three of the top six at home and two away,” he added.

“We can have a big say on our own destiny and for other teams around the play-offs.

“While there are points to be had, we’ll keep fighting to get as near to that top six as possible.”
