Alex look to maintain momentum

CREWE Alexandra will look to maintain the momentum gained with victory against MK Dons by backing up against Crawley on Saturday.

Crawley’s promotion ambitions have tail off recently, but Alex boss Steve Davis is wary of writing them off as his side prepare to launch a last-gasp play-off push.

Alex will hope that though influential skipper Luke Murphy limped off with a groin strain against the Dons, he should be fit for Saturday’s trip.

Clayton is set to return on the bench while Pogba is away on international duty as Guinea face Mozambique.

“I wanted to give Max a run but he wanted to go with England and I’m not going to stand in his way,” added Davis.

“But it does disrupt his opportunities.

“I said if he does go there is every chance that when he comes back he’ll lose his place.

“I’m just being realistic with him as someone might come in and do well.

“That’s the chance they take when they go and the same could happen to Pogs, especially leading up to Wembley.”
