CREWE Alexandra slipped back into the League One relegation spots despite a superb late leveller against Swindon Town on Saturday.

Substitute Vadaine Oliver hit a 25-yard volley to secure a share of the points for the Railwaymen after Ryan Harley had put the visitors in front.

Chuks Aneke, Crewe’s top scorer this term with 11, had the chance to give the hosts the lead heading into the break when Harley was adjudged to have handled Cameron Park’s cross.

But the on-loan Arsenal forward lifted his effort well over the bar. Steve Davis’ side were then made to pay three minutes after the interval as Harley fired past Ben Garratt.

Aneke twice went close to redeeming his penalty miss, Robins’ keeper Tyrell Belford saving his far post header before the forward rattled the bar with a curling effort.

But substitute Oliver lashed home with 77 minutes played to salvage a point for the struggling Alex.
