THE Dabbers maintained their winning streak with a resounding 3-0 triumph at Kidsgrove.
Guest of honour, former England, Chelsea and Stoke legend Alan Hudson must have been impressed as Nantwich sparkled again in pre-season.
Darren Tinson prevented early danger when heading Aiden Matranga’s lofted cross away from former Alsager man Jimmy McCarthy.
Nantwich eventually got into the groove and Dave Walker teed up Michael Lennon who forced Dean Latham into a full-length save with a blinder.
The visitors were now on top as Latham was again busy, keeping out Charlie O’Loughlin’s powerful header from a Nick Linford corner.
On trial, former Crewe Alexandra U18 keeper Marcus Cooper held McCarthy’s blistering drive at the second attempt before the Dabbers went in front on 35 minutes.
Peter Heler’s played the perfect ball for Adam Beasley who buried the ball past Latham from 10 yards.
Kidsgrove were still game, proved as Andy Teague rattled the post just after the break.
But the Dabbers took a grip of proceedings on 50 minutes thanks to the skill of Lennon.
The new recruit made space down the left and squared the ball into the path of Tinson who hammered home.
Eight minutes later and it was 3-0 as substitute Andy Taylor advanced into the penalty area and gave Latham no chance.
Karl Everall saw a shot deflected over the top in a rare action at the other end while Ryan Green went close to a fourth with a speculative drive outside of the box.
Nantwich travel to Norton on Saturday before taking on the Alex at Newcastle Town on Monday, KO 7.30pm.
The friendly against FC United has also switched venue to Witton Albion’s Wincham Park on Friday, August 8 (8pm).
“We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Witton for their assistance,” said a Dabbers spokesman.
“We also thank FC United for their co-operation and understanding and offer sincere apologies to supporters of both clubs for any inconvenience caused.”
