NANTWICH Town will hope to end their miserable record of no wins from seven matches in 2012 when they welcome North Ferriby United to the Weaver Stadium on Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Jimmy Quinn's men find themselves in a crowded mid-section of the Evo-Stik Premier Division, where just six points cover 10 teams, but will need to return to winning ways if they are to avoid being sucked towards the relegation zone at the foot of the table.

MASSIAH McDonald scored a late winner as visitors Worksop won their first game since Boxing Day at the Weaver Stadium.

McDonald latched on to Jamie Jackson’s through-ball to hammer a 75th minute winner past Jon Brain in the Dabbers’ goal.

Nantwich has the better of the chances in the early stages as Dabbers debutant David Lynch found Jordan Connerton inside the area but the striker, on loan from Crewe Alexandra, shot wide.

Lynch, who signed for Nantwich on loan from Burnley, also went close on the half hour mark but his free kick was saved by Jon Worsnop.

The Dabbers' best chance of the half came just before the break, when Matt Lowe’s free-kick was headed just over by Mat Bailey.

Nantwich went close again just after half time, when good interplay between Dave Macpherson and Connerton created an opening for Lowe to shoot wide.

The Tigers could have taken the lead just after the hour mark, when McDonald battled down the right and cut back for Jackson only for the striker’s shot to be cleared off the line by Darren Moss.

The decisive goal came 15 minutes from time, Chris Flynn being caught in possession by Jackson and the striker fed through his strike partner, McDonald, who smashed home to give his side their first win since Boxing Day.
