QUEENS Park Golf Club are the winners of The Cumberland Arms Crewe Open League Winter Team Knockout after a comfortable 8-3 victory over Bridge A at Crosville Club.
Bridge got off to a bright start with Jamie Hawkins winning the opening game in 20 darts and Marilyn Broadfield taking the first dominoes game to give them a 2-0 lead.
But that was short-lived as Golf Club hit top form, winning the next four darts games, including a 180 from Stewart Bennett, and three dominoes games to give them a 7-2 lead.
The glory of winning the decisive game fell to Steve Sutton, who won the final darts singles match.
Crosville also hosted the Division Four dominoes play-off match between Amalgamated Nomads and Grand Junction. In a closely fought contest it was Darren Roberts who came out on top to make Grand Junction the Division Four champions.
Meanwhile, the preliminary round of the Summer Team Knockout resulted in two closely fought ties, both finishing with 8-7 scorelines. The Amalgamated B pairing of John and Steve Hassall gained the decisive victory against Brunel B in the final dominoes pairs game. White Lion (Ford Lane) had the upper hand against Pioneers B at darts, leading 6-1 following some top arrows from Dave Coyne, but Pies dominated the dominoes.
However, it was not enough as White Lion won with an 8-7 aggregate.
