A TEAM representing the Crewe area has reached next Wednesday’s Asda Kwik Cricket national final.
Crewe was the most successful district in the Year 6 mixed county final on Friday, with Audlem St James, Nantwich’s Wrenbury Primary School and Bunbury Aldersey returning to Warrington Cricket Club on Tuesday for the regional final.
Bunbury came out on top against rival Cheshire and Lancashire opposition and will represent the county as one of the country’s top 16 in the final showdown at the Derby County Ground.
Audlem, Wrenbury and Bunbury won district events to reach the county final, where all three teams were unbeaten.
Bunbury defeated Daresbury 278-212, Hursthead 280-251 and Overchurch 251-210.
Audlem dominated Group A, triumphins 265-256 against Mossley, 278-248 against Springfield and 278-261 against Upton Priory.
Wrenbury won Group D after beating Newton and Broadstone Hall.
