Vincent steers Dabbers to victory

FORMER New Zealand Test man Lou Vincent dominated Nantwich’s maximum points home victory over Urmston.

The success lifts his side into the top half of cricket’s ECB Premier League League table for the first time this season.

Vincent contributed an unbeaten 102 and Chris Simpson 56 to a second-wicket stand worth 143 as the Dabbers replied with 179 for 2 to the all-out 177 posted by Urmston.

Adam Landry had earlier rattled up 64 not out for Urmston, while Jimmy Warrington took 4 for 88.

Vincent cleaned up the tail with 3 for 22 as the last six Urmston batsmen failed to hit double figures.

Nantwich, who are away to Oulton Park on Saturday, are now fifth on 197 points from 13 games.

Only leaders Neston look out of sight at this stage on 243 points as second-placed Alderley Edge are only 13 points in front of the Dabbers.

Nantwich Cavaliers over 40s have suffered a blow with stalwart Neil Foster ruled out for the season with a snapped Achilles suffered in a third XI game.

Cavaliers had no game this week as Mobberley could not raise a team for the trip.
