An Inspirational College
St Helens College is a modern and friendly place to study higher education, professional and postgraduate qualifications. With our long history and excellent reputation, you will benefit from the unique and intimate teaching and learning methods adopted by our highly qualified and dedicated staff.
Small Group Sizes
St Helens College believe that smaller learning groups provide a higher standard of learning and enable lecturers to spend more time developing and supporting individual students on the programme. The extra contact time that students have with lecturers has a positive impact on results and student achievement.
Open Access to Staff
Our lecturers pride themselves on their professional approach to teaching and learning and their friendly and approachable manner. They are always on hand to give any support and guidance you might need.
Regular Pastoral and Tutorial Support
The Personal Tutor scheme has been designed to ensure that students receive all the help and support they need whilst studying at College. Personal Tutors will have regular contact with students to ensure that they achieve their goals and enjoy the experience of St Helens College. In addition, there is a range of specialist services available from the Student Services Team.
Excellent Resources
St Helens College is currently undergoing a multi-million pound new campus development project boasting state of the art teaching and learning facilities. The College’s excellent teaching reputation is matched by the quality of learning resources and the facilities available to students at all three campuses.
Interaction with Employers
St Helens College is proud to work in close partnership with local employers to ensure that students graduate with a broad understanding of the sector in which they will work. The majority of our degrees include a work-based learning module as an integral part of the programme, to provide students with a practical appreciation of their chosen industry. In addition, we have lecturers with a wealth of knowledge and industry experience.
Progression with our Prestigious University Partners
Students can access the benefits of studying locally at St Helens College and receive a prestigious qualification validated by one of our prestigious university partners. St Helens College has developed strong links with its partner universities to provide progression routes for students to continue in higher education.
A Vocational Relevance and Currency to Your Learning
Many of our higher education programmes have been designed in consultation with employers to ensure they meet the changing needs of industry and commerce. Students will benefit from developing a wealth of academic knowledge that is underpinned by practical, technical and analytical skills that can be transferred to the workplace upon graduation.
