Girls Aloud have gone straight to number one - their fourth chart-topping single.
The girl band's new single The Promise entered the charts at the top spot, the official UK Charts Company said. It is the 19th single from the band, who were formed in 2002 on ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals.
The song, taken from their fifth studio album, Out of Control, knocked punky Pennsylvanian singer Pink off the top, where she had spent three weeks.
There was another new entry at number three, with German ravers The Guru Josh Project making it into the top five with their reworking of Guru Josh's 90s hit, Infinity.
Infinity 2008 kicked last year's X Factor winner Leon Jackson's single Don't Call This Love, out of the top ten to number 11.
His debut album, Right Now, entered the album charts at number four.
This week's highest moving single was Razorlight's Wire to Wire, which jumped 25 places to number five.
Australian rockers AC/DC made a triumphant return to the album charts with their first album in eight years.
Black Ice went straight to number one, with the Kaiser Chief's latest offering, Off With Their Heads, having to settle for second place.
Last week's number one album, Keane's Perfect Symmetry, fell to number six.
