Christian Bale reckons playing Batman is a whole lot physically tougher than his latest role as John Connor in Terminator Salvation.

"Not a whole lot was tough for me really," he told E!

"Because all the physical stuff - running around and everything was nothing compared to what I've got used to with doing the Batman movies."

He continued: "Batman's a hell of a lot tougher to do because he's all physical. He doesn't use guns. He's completely physical. John Connor uses guns. It's just a matter of picking somebody off and getting a good shot."

Christian stars alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and newcomer Sam Worthington in the movie, directed by McG.

"I didn't need a whole lot of prep for it really," he said.

"I shaved my head, and was there through the script getting written."
