Sir Tom Jones is eyeing up a collaboration with Eminem as he prepares to be the oldest male musician to have a No 1 album.
The Welsh crooner's new record Praise & Blame is already sitting in the top spot in the UK album charts mid-weeks, and is set to prevent the Detroit rapper's Recovery from nabbing a fifth week at the top.
"I couldn't be more proud of this album and I'm really blown away by the response from everyone - it's great to be top of the charts with Eminem, maybe next time we could be top together," he said in a statement.
If the 70-year-old succeeds, he would steal the crown from Bob Dylan, whose last album went to No 1 in the UK in 2009, at the age of 67.
In Praise & Blame, his biggest success since 1999's Reload, Sir Tom - who is entering his sixth decade in music - covers classics by artists like Bob Dylan and John Lee Hooker.
