England's latest pace hope Steven Finn returned to international action today in the first npower Test against Pakistan at Trent Bridge.

Finn, man of the series against Bangladesh at the start of this season, then missed the mid-summer one-day internationals when he was instead prescribed a strength and conditioning programme.

But he is back in harness against Pakistan, confirmed in the XI this morning at the predictable expense of fellow seamer Tim Bresnan, although he will be hoping not to see any action today after Andrew Strauss won the toss and decided to bat under cloudy skies.

Pakistan were also as expected, unchanged from the team which beat Australia by three wickets at Headingley last week.
