Drugs officers raid homes

A POLICE officer forces his way into one of the homes.
POLICE swooped on 37 addresses in Northwich and Winsford this morning, Wednesday, in one of the of the largest drugs operations Cheshire has seen - and the Guardian was there to capture the dramatic scenes.
So far, a total of 26 men and four women have been arrested in connection with supplying Class A drugs in mid Cheshire.

More than 300 police officers gathered at the constabulary's headquarters in Winsford at 6.30am with simultaneous raids across the area starting at 7am.
Det Chf Insp Andy Southcott, from Cheshire Police, said: "We are confident that the effects of this operation will be defused across outlying areas of Northwich and Winsford where other users come in to obtain drugs."
