Northwich Folk Club is hosting Damien Barber and Mike Wilson at the Harlequin Theatre, Northwich on Friday, October 12.

Raised in Norfolk and heavily influenced by such earlier Norfolk singers as Walter Pardon and Peter Bellamy, Damien is a stylish and distinctive singer, either unaccompanied or using guitar or concertina.

Though he has lived for a long time in West Yorkshire he retains a strong East Anglian identity.

Mike Wilson is the youngest member of the Wilson Family, the powerful Teesside singing siblings who have raised the rafters at many a festival or folk club event.

His musical heritage is emphatically that of the North East – rural and industrial folk song both traditional and modern.

Damien and Mike have a rich shared repertoire of traditional songs plus the work of modern folk writers such as Bellamy, Ewan MacColl and Mike Waterson.

Damien and Mike will be supported by Campbell Taylor.

Mark & Linda are a Lincolnshire based folk duo. They sing a mix of traditional and contemporary folk songs, with an occasional dash of Americana.

Mark Campbell, an accomplished guitar player and singer, has been a stalwart of the folk and acoustic music scene in the Grimsby and surrounding areas for almost 30 years.

In the middle of 2015 he was joined by Linda, and they have developed a distinct sound of twin line harmony singing.

They perform at various folk clubs, festivals and charity events, and are active members of Grimsby and Louth folk clubs

Your host for the evening will be Pete Thompson.

Tickets are available via danarts.org.uk (no booking fee and a reserved seat) and are priced at £10 or £8 for club members. Doors open at 8pm for an 8.30pm start at the Harlequin Theatre on Queen Street.
