A GROUP of 70 Scouts and Leaders leave Knutsford this weekend to travel to Kandersteg, the international Scout activity centre, for an expedition packed full of adventure.
Opened in 1923 by Lord Baden-Powell, it is a place where Scouts from all over the world come to meet.
This is the largest international expedition undertaken by Knutsford Scouts.
Set deep in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Kandersteg is surrounded by glorious lakes, mountains and glaciers.
“More than 11,000 Scouts visit Kandersteg each year from many countries, so it brings a truly international experience, meeting and sharing experiences and forging new friendships,” said district commissioner Martin Relton.
“There are over 50 campsites at the centre, but our favoured option was to leave the tents at home and stay in the beautiful wooden Swiss chalets on site.”
