A HALLOWEEN themed open evening is being held at St Chad's Pre School.

Craft sessions and various activities will be available.

The charity freeschool in on Gladstone Street changed management in July.

Chairman of directors Sheena Partington said: "This is a great opportunity for parents to sample our nursery, look around and meet our staff.

"We grow our own fruit, veg and herbs for our children to take home along with our free range eggs.

"Our main aim is to give as much to the community as possible.

"We know this is an area of deprivation so we want to enable families to access the education service as early as possible.

"We offer tailored sessions to suit the best needs of children and their families and to help parents get back to the work place if they wish."

The open evening is being held on Wednesday, October 24 from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Hot dogs and drinks will be available for a small donation.

Raffle tickets will be on sale.

The pre school can accommodate 50 pupils, 25 each morning and 25 in the afternoon sessions.

A board of volunteer directors manage the pre school alongside seven members of staff.
