THE Middlewich Library is inviting residents to take part in a national campaign which aims to help people get the most out of the internet.

National Get Online Week runs from October 15 to October 20 and this year the campaign is aimed at trying to get people to try one new thing with the internet that you would normally do in a shop or bank, library or over the phone.

Emma, Librarian at Middlewich Library says: “Almost everyone has heard about some of the ways the internet can help you save money, save time, and make life easier and more fun.

“If you’re not confident using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or you’ve heard about some of the dangers of being online, it can be difficult to take that next step.

“But getting the most out of the internet doesn’t have to be scary.

“We think that doing just one thing online is all you need to do to get started, and we’re running events to help people do just that.

“We will be holding our Get Online Week events between Monday, October 15 to Saturday, October 20 at Middlewich Library, there’ll be lots of friendly support for anyone who wants to start doing a bit more online - and it’s absolutely free.

“You can choose between Learn My Way tutorial sessions that will help you feel more confident using computers and the internet; the Digital Knit, Stitch and Natter afternoon that will highlight how the internet can inspire your creativity or just bring the little ones along to the Rhyme Time and Digital Colouring session where you can discover how to bring colouring to life.

“People can call 01606 288070 to find out more, check out the Middlewich Library Facebook page or just pop in and see what’s happening. The more the merrier and everyone’s welcome.”
