A NEW craft beer bar and tap room for Mobberley Brewhouse has announced its Knutsford launch date.

Project 53 will open in Minshull Street at noon on Friday, October 26, following the successful launch of its sister tap room in Stockport earlier this year.

The bar has seen the redevelopment of two plots where the Tap and Bottle pub and smoothie and juice bar The Shed were.

As well as a major refurbishment of the site, investment has been made to install an open-front kitchen upstairs which will serve hand-made pizzas.

Customers will have a choice of 11 keg beers and three cask beers from the Mobberley Brewhouse range as well as guest ales.

Project 53 will also specialise in gin with more than 30 varieties on offer and there will also be cider, spirits and wine.

Operations director Sophie Roberts said: "The style of the bar is shabby chic meets 'perfection'.

"The first impression is quite urban with the exposed brickwork and industrial lighting, but on closer inspection you can see the perfection in every detail.

"We have gone to great lengths to create a bar where everything is just right – the atmosphere, the staff, and of course the drinks."

For those who are keen to get a first taste of the Project 53 experience, there is a soft opening on Thursday evening, October 25, from 6pm.

The doors will then officially open at noon on Friday, October 26, followed by a launch party in the evening which is welcome to everyone.
