HIGH Street is to get a taste of America when new restaurant Stateside Bar and Kitchen opens at the end of the month.

The new venue, near the Bull Ring, will be serving US classics such as burgers, steaks, nachos, milkshakes and craft beer to up to 70 guests.

New owner Lyn Taylor – who has been running the Salt Barge in Marston for four years – takes over alongside business partner Phil Gatley and the restaurant is set for a November 30 full opening.

Lyn said: "To have a thriving eating out scene in Northwich, we need a variety of dining establishments, offering a mix of cuisines for every taste bud.

"The Stateside Bar & Kitchen is an exciting, unique concept for the town and will be a great venue for families wanting to dine out and those who want to enjoy a good night in a stylish environment.

"There have been a few failed businesses in this building over the years and it’s often lain empty. It seemed to me such a shame that a beautiful building in a fantastic location was going to waste.

"I am a local resident, I love Northwich and am passionate about making the Stateside Bar & Kitchen a roaring success.

"I am sure the community will enjoy an American-style restaurant because it has such universal appeal. It’s the ultimate comfort food.

“There’s a real buzz in the town with quite a few new openings and it’s great to be part of it.”

The first floor restaurant will be well served by chef Chris Dunbar, while the ground floor bar will feature a range of cocktails, American craft beers and nibbles.

Samuel Adams, Brooklyn Lager and pale ales will be among the offerings to drinkers.

Chloe Ellerby, the building's estate manager from Hurstwood Holdings, said: "We are delighted to welcome our new tenant to Northwich High Street and look forward to seeing their business flourish.

"We believe their bar-restaurant will become a significant asset to the town centre and the local community.”
