COFFEE and mince pies are on the menu at an MP's annual festive get together for a good cause.
Stretford and Urmston MP Kate Green is hosting the event at Christ Church, 131 Lostock Road, Davyhulme, (M41 OTD), on Friday, December 21, from 10am to 11.30am.
Everyone is welcome to drop in to have a chat and enjoy a mince pie.
In return for some festive treats at the event, Ms Green is asking attendees to bring along an item to donate to the Stretford Foodbank.
Ms Green said: “I’m pleased to be hosting my annual Christmas coffee morning and hope as many people as possible come to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake.
“I’d be really grateful if everyone coming along could bring a tin to donate to the foodbank. I think it’s appalling that people rely on foodbanks in this country, but it’s still really important that we support those in need, especially in the run up to Christmas.
“Stretford Foodbank do excellent work in our community and rely on donations to help people in crisis, so it would be great to show our support.”
