KNUTSFORD Academy students have been praised for their ‘overwhelming’ support for Hampers of Hope.
The school decided to help the locally-based charity for the second year running.
Last year it collected donations across four year groups, and this year wanted it to be even bigger and better, so ran the appeal across the whole school.
Hampers of Hope works towards relieving poverty in north east Cheshire, and collects non-perishable food items to make parcels for people and families struggling to put food on the table.
It also provides Hope Services, which aims to address the root causes of poverty and work with families.
“As ever, the students, staff and parents of the Knutsford Academy community have been extremely generous in their donations, meaning we were able to give more items than ever before,” said teacher Emma Hilditch.
“I am, as always, so proud of the generosity and support we have had in our collection this year.
“When we put all the donations together it was overwhelming how many items we had managed to collect.
“Knowing how much it would help local families over the Christmas period brought a smile to all our faces.
“The students, staff and parents went above and beyond in their kindness to help others.
“When we dropped off the donations Hampers of Hope were very grateful for our continued support.”
