TWO Wirral midwives from the borough's One to One service have been shortlisted in this year's MaMa awards.

Hannah Parker and Emma Burgess are part of the community based midwifery service that are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week with all care taking place in the mum-to-be's home.

The One to One service has also been shortlisted under 'Specialist Maternity Service.'

One mum who was under the care of the One to One midwives during her pregnancy told the Globe: "As soon as we heard about the MaMa awards we quickly submitted our nomination for our Midwife Hannah, and One to One Midwives as a service.

"We've been looking for a way to thank the team since we left their services, but haven't felt anything measured up to the gratitude we have for them.

"We are so happy to hear three members of their team, and their service have all been shortlisted.

"They deserve this and so much more.

"Their care - no matter what time of day it is - dedication, passion of birth choices, and support from the minute of contact until this day has been more than we could ever have asked for."

North West maternity support worker Amanda Brookes has also been nominated and shortlisted in this year's MaMa awards

The MaMa Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on May 5 this year.
