GANGLAND murder hitman Mark Fellows has been attacked with a razor blade in prison.

The 38-year-old, from Orford, was last month found guilty of gunning down and killing ‘underworld Mr Big and mob fixer’ Paul Massey and John Kinsella in two assassinations carried out nearly three years apart - the second of which was carried out near to junction seven of the M62 at Rainhill.

Nicknamed ‘the Iceman’, he will never be released from prison.

Currently being held in HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire, Fellows was reportedly serious injured after being attacked with a razor blade in the maximum security prison on Wednesday, February 20.

He was airlifted to hospital after suffering cuts all over his body.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: “Prison staff are investigating an incident between two prisoners on Wednesday at HMP Whitemoor.”

Fellows, of Sandy Lane West, murdered Paul Massey in a hail of bullets in July 2015 - firing a submachine at the 55-year-old as he arrived at his home in Salford.

Then, in May last year, the sous chef - who worked cooking sauces at the Greencore factory in Woolston - shot dead a man who had carried Mr Massey’s coffin at his funeral.

John Kinsella, 53, was walking his dogs near to junction seven of the M62 when Fellows gunned him down while riding a mountain bike early on Saturday, May 5 2018.

Fellows was arrested onboard a plane at Manchester Airport after returning from a trip to Amsterdam later that month.

Earlier this year, he was found unanimously guilty of murdering Mr Kinsella - while the verdict on Mr Massey’s killing was reached by a majority of 10 to two.

Justice William Davis subjected Fellows to a whole life order, meaning he will never be released from prison.
