A WOMAN was trapped in a car following a crash in Winsford.
Firefighters were called to a one vehicle collision on Mill Lane shortly before 9am this morning.
Crews removed the driver's door and helped paramedics to get the casualty out of the vehicle.
Firefighters then made the car safe and handed the injured woman over to the care of paramedics.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said the casualty, a woman in her early 20s, suffered an ankle injury and was taken to hospital.
The road was closed as emergency services worked at the scene.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 45 minutes.
