A LONG standing supporter of a cerebral palsy charity has raised £12,395 since last year.

Norma Flowerday, Ladies Captain at Wallasey Golf Club, vowed to raise enough money to fund two children’s places at Stick ‘n’ Step, which has a centre in Runcorn, for twelve months.

The specialist charity supports children with cerebral palsy and their families, providing conductive education sessions to help give them independence in the future.

About 94 children from across the region attended these sessions every week at the charity's Wallasey and Runcorn centres.

Head of fundraising at Stick ‘n’ Step, Jenny Snell, was blown away by the amount of money Norma raised.

She said: "This was an extraordinary fundraising effort by Norma.

"She far exceeded her initial target, raising almost enough money to support three places at Stick ‘n’ Step.

"This money will have such a positive impact on the lives of children we support and their families. We are so grateful to her."
