PEOPLE who have gone above and beyond to help the Winsford community have been recognised in a ceremony which brough the town together.
The Winsford Star Awards recognise people within Winsford who have made a big difference to the lives of others, achieved something special or made a contribution to the community.
The awards included a number of categories, including Young Person of the Year and Uniformed Officer of the Year, to name but a few.
Scores of nominations were submitted by Winsford residents, and local businesses generously sponsored each category.
On the night itself, a representative from each sponsor opened a gold envelope and announced the winner.
The ‘Star Award’ categories, winners and sponsors were:
1. Volunteer of the Year – Laura Scott, Fancy Feet – Sponsored by Tiger Trailers
2. Teacher of the Year – Claire Edgeley, headteacher, Over Hall School – Sponsored by Deepstore
3. Youth Worker of the Year – James Dubber, teaches MMA classes – Sponsored by Weaver Vale Housing Trust
