A NEW centre to champion the rights of people affected by autism in Crewe and Nantwich opened its doors last Friday.
The UK's leading charity, the National Autistic Society, has set up a branch in the borough to provide more help and support locally for families affected by autism.
Many services will be available at the branch based in Room 19, Imperial Chambers, Prince Albert Street in Crewe.
Branch officer John Hannon said: "In the future we hope to be able to provide training on various approaches to coping with autism."
Chief Executive of the NAS, Paul Cann said: "We provide a range of activities from self-help groups to information and advice and from fund-raising to respite care and holiday schemes.
"These activities are vital in ensuring parents, carers and people with autism are able to receive all the support they need."
