NANTWICH Players have continued their success with the group's first award of the season. Tom Brookes was pronounced the Best Senior Individual Performer in the Wilmslow Drama Festival.
The festival of one act plays ended on Saturday.
Four evenings of entries from senior and junior productions meant vigorous competition for the awards, which were judged and presented by Garth Jones, former drama adviser for Cheshire County Council.
Nantwich Players' entry was A Dog's Life by Pam Valentine in which dogs in a re-homing centre ponder over life and the creatures known as humans .
There were four awards in the senior section and Tom was pronounced the Best Senior Individual Performer for his role as Ben.
The judge described Tom's performance as having impeccable delivery and just the right vocal quality, showing great judgement. He also congratulated all the cast on a high level of achievement, with well-drawn characters and a nice line in pathos. The Players’ next competition is the Hale Drama Festival in June where their entry is Say Something Happened by Alan Bennett.
