NANTWICH produced a stunning bowling display to earn an impressive victory at defending Cheshire County League Premier Division champions Alderley Edge.
Edge had won all but one of their six home games in 2017, but the Dabbers came away with a six-wicket victory on Saturday.
After skipper Ray Doyle chose to bowl after winning the toss, Nantwich set about decimating the Edge batting line-up.
Jimmy Warrington was the star, taking 5-35 as the hosts were skittled for just 92.
Ollie Freckingham weighed in with 2-28 and spinner Shaneil Patel was also impressive in taking 2-8.
Despite only chasing a low total, the Dabbers struggled initially with the bat and were reduced to 26-3.
However, a partnership of 65 between Luke Robinson and Ryan Brown took them to the brink of victory before Brown fell for 38.
Robinson remained unbeaten on 46 as Dabbers secured a comfortable victory.
The result takes Nantwich to third in the table ahead of Saturday’s home game against leaders Chester Boughton Hall, who arrive at Whitehouse Lane having won their past seven league games.
