CREWE Alex boss David Artell says the club has to start winning football matches to begin turning the season around.

A disappointing run has seen them tumble from fourth to 20th position and are now just three points off the relegation places.

There remains enough time to transform our season, but Artell knows that we will have to find some consistent form to move into the safety zone of mid table and possibly beyond.

Artell said: “If we can find that consistency then you still have a chance of doing anything in this league.

"I’ve said that there is nothing in the league. Exeter, Luton, Accrington and Notts County are all up there because they have been fairly consistent and won the most games.

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you, if you can put a run together of 10, 15 games unbeaten then you will shoot up the league.

“If you don’t collect plenty of points then you can go the other way and slide right back into it. We know that we cannot afford to lose too many more and that we have to get back to winning games of football.

“It doesn’t matter if that is Forest Green, Morecambe or Luton, we have to embrace that challenge and start winning again.”
