Blackburn Rovers 3 Crewe Alexandra 3

CREWE Alex produced a stunning comeback to force a replay against high-flying League One outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The Alex found themselves 3-0 inside the first 20 minutes of their FA Cup second round clash at Ewood Park, but staged a superb second-half fightback.

Dominic Samuel scored twice for Rovers as they flew out of the traps, with a right-footed shot beating Dave Richards for his first before finishing coolly for his second after being put through by Danny Graham.

Graham got on the scoresheet himself in between Samuel’s brace and Rovers looked to be set fair for the third round.

However, the game changed 10 minutes before the break when home defender Rekeem Harper was sent off for fouling Chris Porter when he was clean through on goal.

The Alex were awarded a penalty, which Porter duly converted.

After the break, the hosts were reduced to nine men when Elliot Bennett was dismissed for clashing with Perry Ng and within 10 minutes, The Alex were level.

Eddie Nolan headed home a corner just after the hour before Porter nodded in George Cooper’s cross to complete the comeback.

The sides will now meet again at Gresty Road on Tuesday, December 12.
