Crewe Vagrants Ladies 2nd 1-4 Winnington Park Ladies
WINNINGTON Park’s Ladies prepared in the best possible way for a meeting with a rival for the title.
They had maximum points secured by the break during a visit to Crewe, and have won their past four Cheshire Women’s League matches.
Third-placed Bowdon’s thirds, beaten for the first time this season last weekend, are their guests on Saturday.
The Northwich side head into that game buoyed by a first-half blitz of their previous opponents after Rhona Logie put them in front.
Crewe punished sloppy defending to level before Ellie Capstick restored the visitors’ lead from a short corner.
She repeated the trick from another set-piece to make it 3-1 before Leona Wylie’s goal added gloss.
Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 0-4 Deeside Ramblers Ladies 3rd
DEESIDE proved too strong for Winnington’s seconds, who were left playing catch-up after conceding four times before half-time.
Park did at least improve afterwards but couldn’t convert any of the chances they created.
However they remained solid in defence to shut out their high-flying guests.
