Winnington Park 2-6 Keswick

WINNINGTON Park could not prevent in-form North West Men’s League leaders Keswick from extending an unbeaten run to eight matches.

They conceded twice inside five minutes after defensive errors were punished and trailed 4-0 by the break.

The Northwich side improved after the interval and reduced a deficit when Mike Dodd and Ed Shand, from a drag-flick, found the net.

However Keswick added to their tally before the final whistle.

Park slip to second-bottom in Division One ahead of a home date with Chester’s seconds.

Winnington Park 3rd 2-1 Wrexham Glyndwr 2nd

BEN Rigby’s brace made the difference for Winnington Park’s thirds during a close encounter with their Welsh guests.

He stayed calm to convert a penalty flick before doubling the home team’s lead when he applied the finished touch to a flowing move.

Goalkeeper Tim Wylie kept out the visitors after the interval although they did halve their arrears before full-time.

Tom Ravenscroft’s efforts on the flank earned for him the player of the match award.

Mossley Hill 3rd 6-1 Winnington Park 4th

IMPROVING Winnington fourths ran into hosts that were too strong when they tried to extend a winning sequence to three matches.

Park trailed 3-0 after their opponents dominated the first-half and Mossley Hill scored again before Matt Morley converted at the far post to put his side on the scoreboard.

However the home team added gloss with two more goals on an afternoon when Angus Paddison and goalkeeper Elis Wilson were the visitors’ stand-out players.
